Francesca Charles is a Project Manager on the CRISP DC team, specializing in data analytics and project coordination. Since joining the team in 2022, she has spearheaded key initiatives that have enhanced the organization’s communication frameworks and stakeholder engagement strategies. Francesca holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Health Informatics, which she completed while managing the PopHealth and Image Exchange workstreams.

Francesca recently represented CRISP DC as a panel speaker at the 2024 Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC) alongside our partners Deniz Soyer and Richard Garcia of the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), and Donna Ramos-Johnson of DC Primary Care Association (DCPCA) where she and the team discussed the innovative ways District providers are leveraging the Health Information Exchange (HIE) data, user insights, and collaborative partnerships to grow and sustain a system-wide population health analytics tool. The panel highlighted DC’s unique approach to population health management, including CRISP DC’s HIE designation and trusted partnerships across the district. Francesca spoke about the integration of data automation and advanced population health analytics, emphasizing the impactful work done in collaboration with hMetrix in developing reports that have enabled District providers to improve patient care. This presentation showcased how CRISP DC’s data-driven initiatives continue to enhance care delivery and population health outcomes in Washington, DC.

Francesca is passionate about advancing the role of health information exchanges in improving care coordination and public health outcomes, and she looks forward to sharing further insights at the upcoming CIVITAS conference in October.
